Home.
Home.
Home.
A drumbeat from the heart urging you back Home for Christmas.
For Aaron Neville Home is in Louisiana and he hymns it royally.
Wherever the Home that calls to your heart is I hope you make it there for Christmas.
Now for some mighty, mighty testifying from The Five Blind Boys of Alabama.
Tom Waits, a notable Jukebox favourite, adds his unmistakeable golden tones to add even more piquancy.
Go Tell It!
W. H. Auden was unquestionably a great Poet who combined enormous technical accomplishment with searching intelligence and wit.
When Auden speaks we do well to listen and reflect.

Aaron Neville is a joy. I’ve just spent a half hour trying to figure out if my memory of hearing the Blind Boys of Alabama perform with Lyle Lovett is real, or if I dreamed it. In either case, I can see and hear the concert: odd as can be, but wonderful. Christmas magic!

Was privileged to hear the Blind Boys twice, most recently last year in concert with Marc Cohn. Amazing voices. They stole the stage and ignored the plan and responded to the audience’s request. Really appreciated the Auden. I had missed this poem somehow. Really captured my thoughts last Sunday about Lent being the next liturgical time and its contrast to Advent.
