I don’t know about you but the emotional intensity of the last two Posts in The Christmas Alphabet series has sent me searching for something a little lighter in tone!
So I call upon a premier party band.
Heroes of the Hoedown and the Hootenanny.
Brimful of Texas Texture.
Wild with Western Swing.
Asleep At The Wheel.
Merry Texas Christmas Y’all!
Find yourself a well sprung floor and get dancing!
Or to put it another way.
Feliz Navidad!
Merry Christmas Y’all.
Merry Christmas.
Season’s Greetings to you and yours Thom. I’ve had great pleasure reading your work and look forward to next years offerings. Hope the new premises is as good a you want it to be, too.
Cheers,
F~

A year ago Asleep At The Wheel visited our town for their Christmas concert. They were fabulous.

I love Asleep At The Wheel. I’ve been lucky enough to see them live over the years, through a couple of incarnations. I hated to see Cindy Cashdollar leave — my, that woman can play. The first time I saw them, they were playing the Broken Spoke in Austin. I was fresh to Texas, and didn’t know much at all about Texas Swing. When they started to play? It was Revelation time.
Unrelated, but offered as a little Christmas gift for you, here’s another woman who knows her way around her instruments. Enjoy!
